I know what you're thinking...
Another pretentious mom-blog designed to make me feel like I'm a horrendous failure. While she's going to post sweet photos of her little angels eating home-cooked meals that look like they were artfully put together by a 5-star chef, my kids were lucky to get a cold Eggo while we scrambled to get ourselves out the door.
Nope. This is not that kind of mom-blog.
Let me introduce myself.
My name is Mary, and I'm a lazy mom. I try super hard, believe me, I do, but between working full-time, sticking to my publishing scheduled (I'm a traditionally published author, but that's another blog), taking care of the cats, the husband, and keeping my two kids alive... well, I take my shortcuts where I can grab them.
So, why am I here, and why should you care?
Well, first and foremost, I'm here to have fun. One of my favorite past-times when I do manage to snag a few minutes to myself is scrolling through Pinterest, glass of wine (or maybe Vodka that I've nicknamed "wine" to sound classier) in hand, scoffing at all the ridiculous projects I would love, love, love to do with my kids but... can't.
You see, the truth is, besides being pressed for time, I'm also tremendously creatively challenged. That said, I've made a commitment to do them anyway. Will the results be disastrous? Probably. But we're going to have a good time anyway, and you're welcome to watch the embarrassing times unfold! Maybe you'll get a good laugh out of it, too.
Besides, making fun of ourselves, my little helpers will also provide unscripted and brutally honest reviews of books, toys, etc. You'll get their perspective, followed by my sarcastic commentary at the end.
Want to meet the little devils?
First up, my oldest. Sean is 11 years old, totally obsessed with video games but smart as a whip. He's a Young Marine (Mighty Mike award winner!) and in the National Honor Society. Ain't he handsome?
And finally, meet my mini-me, Josie. She's an old soul, much too wise and kind for an eight year old. Gothic artist at heart, she loves her black clothes yet still loves being a cheerleader for her school's team.
So, step away from the politics for a little bit of goofy, mom-appropriate fun. I hope you'll stick around, because we've got plenty of shenanigans to be had!
